Source: the English War Bill has been in use since at least the 15th century, reaching its heyday during the Hundred Years’ War. Inspired by original pieces, this is the type of weapon that could have been used according to the teachings of George Silver in his “Paradoxes of Defence (1599). The backward angles spike allows for the easy trapping of an opponents weapon, and the sharpened edges inside the “V” of the weapon is to run up the shaft and lacerate the hands.
